Wow what an awesome campaign!
Tomb Guardians wants to thank everyone for your support and trust in our company. So what is next? We will get some well needed rest for the couple of days, then back to work. For those of you waiting on the Vampires those are going to start fulfilling with the next two weeks and should be completed by the 15th of November. Surveys for this campaign will be emailed out within two to three weeks so around the 5th-7th. You will have 21 days to complete the survey and get it back to us.
What’s to come? Well we have already started planning for next year and we are really excited about what is next. Here is a look at our releases to come next year.

The Calling
"The Calling - Heroes of Nippon" is a 2 - 6 player interactive cooperative Roll Playing Board Game. Based on Japanese mythology and folklore. The party will travel through feudal Japan and solve the mystery and Epic adventure that has been tasked upon them. If you love D&D cooperative games this is one you will not want to miss! The Calling will be released in late spring/early summer, 2020. Your journey is about to begin.
The Calling
It begins with a message.
They hear it in their prayers, see it in their dreams. It answers their prayers and comes to them in their meditations, buzzing in their ears by day and keeping them awake by night. The message is unintelligible and commanding; urging and pulling and pushing. But towards what, they do not know. They heed the call, for to ignore such power is to risk madness or the wrath of whatever God they pray. And so they come. Abandoning families and tribes, forsaking loyalty and comfort, but all in the pursuit what exactly they cannot say. It overrides their better judgement and pulls them together with all the power and indifference of gravity. Destiny is no longer theirs to decide.
Some arrive by horseback, some by foot. Others come from distant lands, speaking strange tongues. By horse and foot and sea and sail they rally. A convergence of nations and creeds, dialects and nobility. The scholars and the warriors and the artisans. Guardians. Separated by tongue and class, united by The Calling.
In ones and twos, The Calling brings them to a forest, thick with mist and legend. Some walk overgrown paths, eyes darting left and right with hands on their weapons and prayers on their tongues. Others trudge through the undergrowth, using stealth as their primary means of survival. The Calling grows stronger with every step, dancing on the edge of interpretation. Each one swears he or she can almost decipher its meaning, but it dances on the tip of their brains and just out of grasp. Turning back is no more an option than ignoring the urge the come here. An ignorable fate and countless dangers and horrors await them, but they swallow their fear and give in to message and know they are powerless to resist.
The party converges at the exact same time in a clearing miraculously free of fog and trees. Save the sound of crickets chirping what might be encouragement, all is silent. What looks to be a boulder sits in the center of the clearing, egg shaped and as tall as a man, but as the strangers see one another for the first time the boulders shifts and moves. Wings gray as stone spread apart and a red figure with a long nose stands from his crouch, hands resting on an ancient chokutō sword. Too straight to be a katana, too long to be ningata, and too noble to have been forged by man, the sword emanates power. The figure wears what might be a smile on its scarlet, hawkish face, but everything about him emanates anything but humor. With a single glance it stares into their souls and knows them to be the ones he has been waiting for.
“Sit,” he commands in a voice that invites no argument and in a language none have ever heard but understand perfectly. They drop to the ground as one, in awe of the great Tengu before them.
The Tengu rolls his shoulders and keeps both hands on the hilt of the massive sword. “You have been called for great purpose by a deity you should be humbled to know is even aware of your existence. In all the world, few mortals carry the dead flames of Kagu-tsuchi within their souls, some of which are you. Izanagi can entrust no other party to do what must be done. No monster or gods, no army of men. He has watched you from the plain of high heaven, Takamagahara, and taken special note of your abilities and deeds. He has hand picked you, bearers of the flame within, and called you here.” The Tengu shifts his grip on the sword hilt and pulls it from the scabbard.
“This sword came from the same ore that Izanagi and Izanami used to forge Amenonuhoko, the Heavenly Spear from which the islands of Nippon and all the world came to be,” explains the Tengu. The sword is ancient and grey, glowing with an ethereal light the strangers wish to look away from but are compelled to look into. “Izanagi took Amenonuhoko with him when he descended into Yomi, the underworld, to bring back his dead wife Izanami. He was chased from the underworld by the spirits of the dead and the kami below. After returning to the High Plains of Heaven, he found Amenonuhoko had been chipped during his flight. The Heavenly Spear no longer shines as it once did and will not allow itself to be lifted until it is made whole again. Without the aid of Amenonuhoko, Izanagi can not hold the evil that exists just outside of this universe at bay. He and the other High Gods do what they can with what they have, but it only stalls the oncoming apocalypse and will not hold it back forever. Barred forever from returning to Yomi, he needs you to venture into the underworld and retrieve the broken piece of the Heavenly Spear. With the dead flames of Kagu-tsuchi burning within your breasts, only you warriors can enter Yomi and hope to return. Otherwise, the great emptiness and evil that surrounds our existence will crush all that is into nothing and all will be lost.” The mortals cast glances at one another, the weight of destiny bearing down on them heavier than the world itself.
“The blade of this sword will be your guide.” The Tengu extends the sword, blade facing up. “And like all blades, now that it is unsheathed it must taste blood. Come now, all of you; give offering to the sister of the Heavenly Spear so that she may guide you to success. For if you are guided to anything but victory, no god of any creed will be able to save you from the darkness that is to come.”
One by one the mortals step forward to give sacrifice to the sister of the Heavenly Spear. The lightest touch upon its blade draws blood, and just as the message that called them here becomes clear another calls them elsewhere. They look east, through the forest and towards the rising red sun of a new day.
“Go now to the world of the dead,” commands the Tengu, sheathing the sword. “Go now and find your fate.”
They shield their eyes as the Tengu kicks up a swarm of leaves with a few powerful beats of his mighty wings. The maelstrom dies and they lower their arms to find they are alone in the clearing, without sight or sign of the Tengu or the sword anywhere to be found.
The fresh cuts on their palms ache and the new Call intensifies. With nods of affirmation and final understanding, the Heroes of Nippon step into the Haunted Forest in search of destiny...
